Whitby Castle’s profitability – or lack or profitability – has been an issue ever since the Golf Club took over management of the facility from an outside catering company in 2006. The Golf Club has often forecast, in the intervening years, that Whitby Castle was poised to break even or be profitable. Evidently, a food and beverage minimum is needed to help make that forecast come true.
