Stacy and Jim Byrne announce the birth of a son, Cillian James Byrne, June 12 at Greenwich Hospital. He weighed 8 pounds, 11 ounces.

 

His maternal grandparents, Bill and Sue Kelvie, live in Rochester, N.Y. His paternal grandparents, James and Andrea Byrne, reside in Yorktown Heights.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Carolyn and John Kennedy announce the birth of their first child, a daughter, Jade Theresa Kennedy. She was born May 13 at White Plains Hospital and weighed 8 pounds. Her maternal grandparents are Patrick and Marie Grosso of White Plains. Her paternal grandparents, Frank and Julie Kennedy, reside in Rye.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cathy and Mike Hansen announce the birth of their second child, Michael Martin Hansen. He was born June 6 at Greenwich Hospital. He weighed 7 pounds, 13 ounces and was 21½ inches long. 

 

Both his maternal grandparents, Terrence and Anne Duffy, and his paternal grandparents, Richard and Barbara Hansen, reside in Rye.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Raising High Hopes

 

More than 120 supporters of the Hailey’s Hope Foundation headed to the beach the evening of June 1 for the organization’s 5th Annual Beach Bash. Guests enjoyed fabulous food, cocktails, and calypso music under the stars at Manursing Island Club. 

 

The event raised approximately $100,000 to benefit families with premature and critically ill babies hospitalized in Neonatal ICUs at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital in Valhalla and other New York area hospitals.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Band of Merry Misfits

 

Random Farms Kids Theater presents “Shrek,” a musical based on the Dream Works film, at The Tarrytown Music Hall, July 26 through August 4.   

 

“Shrek, the Musical” brings the hilarious story of everyone’s favorite ogre to dazzling new life on the stage. In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an unseemly ogre — not a handsome prince — shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Throw in a donkey that won’t stop talking, a bad guy with a short temper, and other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there’s one on hand.

 

“Shrek” is part romance, part twisted fairy tale, and all irreverent fun.   

 

For this production, 130 young thespians from the tri-state area are divided into four casts. They have a wealth of theater, film, and television experience. A number of the featured actors in the show are from Rye, including Cate Hudson and Emma Christopher (both playing the role of Mama Ogre), Sammy Tambe (Papa Ogre), Benjamin Laschever (Young Shrek), Andrew Lent (Ugly Duckling), Katie White (Raggedy Andy), and Madison White (Little Pig).

 

Tickets are $18 (adults), $16 (children under 12 and seniors), $14 (groups of 20+), and $10 (camps). Premium seating tickets (first four rows of center orchestra) are $23.
