Tina Exarhos and Brian Keane, recognized leaders in the creative fields of television, music, and animated film, were named to lead The Rye Arts Center’s 2013-14 Annual Appeal campaign. Recently launched with the aptly titled theme “Bank on Art,” RAC’s giving campaign raises funds and fuels key creative initiatives at the Center, including: Gallery exhibits, performing arts events, arts education, outreach, and financial aid. Bill Oberlander, board member and Marketing Director of The Robin Hood Foundation, is responsible for designing and developing the campaign’s materials, which feature a landscape painting of the Sound Shore by local artist Marilyn Fairman.

“Investing in the mission of The Rye Arts Center is critical to the health and quality of life in our community,” explains Exarhos, who serves as Executive Vice President of Marketing at MTV. “‘Bank On Art’ captures the importance of our call to action to support the creative endeavors of our community, and all that the arts provide.”

Indeed, in the last few months, the RAC has provided the community with standing room-only crowd pleasers such as its “Painters on Location” live auction, “Nature’s Art: Geodes” exhibit, and, most recently “She Said What” comedy night.  These events enhance the offerings of the art and music school, which provide over 400 classes and workshops per year to thousands of students of all ages. RAC provides approximately 45 community events annually and serves 17,000 students, members, and arts lovers.

Brian Keane, Chief Operating Officer of Blue Sky Studios, remarked, “When I see how broadly The Rye Arts Center serves the community, I am excited to lead the call for support. As a not-for profit organization, we depend on the generosity of the community to sustain our mission. We want to ensure that creativity, in all its forms, has a place to thrive right here in our backyard.”

Proceeds from the annual appeal go directly to support the mission of The Rye Arts Center and outreach programming and scholarships. To donate, call 967-0700 or go to www.ryeartscenter.org.
