Police Blotter – July 9th

 

6/25: Male observed sleeping in parked vehicle, Wappanocca Avenue/Highland Road, 1:29 a.m. Party identified.

 

6/24: Triple bogey. Unknown party threw seven golf balls at complainant’s Ridgeland Terrace house without damage. Possibly kids same age as her daughter. Advised to follow up if problem continued or damage occurred.

 

6/23: Harrison PD requested support with active burglary on Halsted Avenue, 2:29 a.m.

 

6/23: Took a toll. Hughes Avenue caller stated his vehicle was entered into overnight and EZ Pass and sunglasses were removed.

 

6/23: While on patrol, observed vessel operating in Milton Harbor with four youths bow-riding, 1:06 p.m. Boarded, summons issued.

 

6/23: Second call regarding loud music, Coolidge/Park avenues, 2:19 p.m. Second call. Spoke to homeowner, music turned down.

 

6/23: Rye Town Park security advised of vehicle blocking way in parking lot. Situation corrected.

 

6/23: Glen Oaks Drive complainant stated his registration was stolen from window of his unlocked car while parked in his open garage.

 

6/23: Enter Sandman. Suspicious vehicle, Wappanocca Avenue, 5:28 p.m. Caller reported occupied dark, metallic vehicle parks in same spot for very long periods of time, idling. Made her nervous. Operating party identified and checked out.

 

6/23: Caller stated numerous vehicles were in violation of beach parking ordinance along Halsted Place. Summonses issued.

 

6/22: Construction prior to 10 a.m. reported, Grace Church Street, 8:56 a.m., Guion Road, 9:50 a.m. Workers advised of City Code. Warnings issued.

 

6/22: Damage to bicycle reported, Milton School.

 

6/22: Afoul of the law. After-hours noise at Rye Rec basketball courts, 10:28 p.m. Parties were asked to leave.

 

6/21: Several neighborhood complaints of Solicitors operating in Douglas Circle area after 8 p.m. Canvassed area, negative results.

 

6/20: Suspicious male wearing gray sweatpants rolled up to his knees observed going through mail at BPR/Orchard Avenue residence.

 

6/19: “One man’s ceiling…” Second-floor apartment dweller stated neighbors on first floor were being loud. When party went down to ask them to keep noise down, verbal argument ensued. Advised parties to speak to landlord regarding disagreement.

 

6/19: Possible rabid raccoon, Kirby Lane, 8:52 a.m. Pest control on site, animal removed without incident.

 

6/19: Kids playing on bikes in Station Plaza, interfering with traffic. Spoke with group, told them to stay out of road.

 

6/19: Removed 10-foot log from Port Chester channel. Brought to Rye Marina for disposal.

 

6/19: Leaf blowers in use, Rye Road. Summons issued.

 

6/18: Walk-in reported fraudulent activity on his credit report involving Verizon account.

 

6/17: Golf carts were driven on Apawamis golf course after hours, damaging greens. GM to complete sworn statement.

 

6/17: Little Deuce Coop. Observed white vessel with two persons on board leave North Hen Island at high rate of speed. Did not come off throttle until Milton Harbor House. Summons issued, court date July 12.

 

6/16: Caller stated her BBQ exploded in her backyard. No fire, grill malfunction.

 

6/16: Buzz? Female caller reported strange noise coming from her garden area.

 

6/15: Orchard Avenue resident stated Uber driver who dropped her off had harassed her, wished to file complaint.

 

6/15: Marriott manager reported unconscious male in business center. Party was sleeping.

 

6/14: North Street caller reported verbal dispute between neighbors regarding trees being cut down. Parties advised of options in civil dispute.

 

6/13: Please Con-firm. Elmwood Avenue caller stated his son let Con Ed employee into residence. Wanted party to leave and prove he actually was with Con Ed.

 

6/13: Caller stated she was walking into Rye Gardens when two dogs came running after her dogs. No harm done to complainant’s dogs.

 

6/13: Scam scram. Rickbern Street caller stated she received package she did not order. Shortly after receiving it, approximately 50-year-old Hispanic male rang doorbell and stated he was there to pick up package. Caller did not give it to him, party left area in black SUV.

 

6/11: Husky reported wandering streets without leash on daily basis in Locust Avenue area. YMCA was concerned since camp scheduled to start soon. Spoke to dog owner about maintaining dog on leash.

 

6/11: Thou shall not Theall. Complainant reported dropping her wallet. Cameras at Theall Road location showed vendor picking up wallet, not returning it. Incident report, sworn statement, owner’s deposition prepared.

 

6/11: Complainant stated check sent to his home address was never delivered, but cashed with forged signature.

 

6/10: Martin Butler Court resident reported his black Audi A7 stolen from his driveway overnight.
