“Rye Views”, a new quarterly magazine-like television program about everything Rye, debuts this month on RyeTV. Created and produced by Rye residents in conjunction with RyeTV staff, the show features stories about the community with an emphasis on hot topics, schools, the arts, cooking, fitness, and seniors. The first episode airs on Cablevision Channel 76 and Verizon Channel 33, beginning February 20 at 11 a.m., and 2, 5, and 10 p.m.

Among the segments are: “Rye Cooks” by Paula Fung, “Artside” by Margot Clark-Junkins, “School Views” by Jane Johnson, “Fitness Minute” by Georgetta Morque, “SPRYE Around Town” by Kenneth Knowles, and “What’s on Your Mind with Sue and Susanna,” a lively discussion featuring Sue O’Brien and Susanna Cronin. Anchors for the first episode are Mary Hannon Fitzgibbons and Paula Fung, who is also the executive producer. The director is Mary Ellen Doran.

The show is a result of several planning meetings and brainstorming sessions followed by individuals filming their pieces on location and editing them in the RyeTV studio. Fitzgibbons did additional editing with the staff.

“Rye Views” is a RyeTV Signature Program, which receives the support of the Cable Committee covering community arts, science, history, and cultural programming.

“We hope that ‘Rye Views’ will interest more people in learning about production while exploring the exciting Rye community,” said Nicole Levitsky, RyeTV Access Coordinator. “There are so many talented Rye storytellers; it is wonderful to see this translate to the TV screen.”
