Rye Country Day School’s Alumni Hall of Fame, created in 2004 to recognize and celebrate the achievements of the school’s alumni, inducted six individuals at its 2012 Hall of Fame Dinner last month. Over 100 alumni and guests attended the dinner to honor these special six individuals.
2012 Distinguished Alumni Award: David Boxenbaum ’87, Co-founder and General Manager of A&M/Octone Records, which numbers Grammy Award-winning Maroon 5 among its record label artists.
R. Adrian Walters III ’91 Memorial Athletic Award: Joshua Carter ’98, Four-year letter winner and five-time All-Centennial Conference selection in both football and baseball at Muhlenberg College, where he also earned NCAA Division III All American honors three times as a record-setting kick returner.
The Arts: Jessica Greer Morris ’86, Executive Director of Project Girl Performance Collective, an empowerment performance troupe for girls ages 12-21 that has performed at the United Nations, TedxWomen, and the New York International Fringe Festival.
Professional/Academic Achievement: Edward D. Kleinbard ’69, Professor of Law at the University of Southern California’s Gould School of Law and formerly Chief of Staff of the United States Congress’ nonpartisan Joint Committee on Taxation.
Service: Blythe Robinson ’93, Senior Director of Programs for the Early Learning Coalition of Miami-Dade/Monroe counties (Florida) that manages early care and educational programs and service for 50,000 children.
Special (recognizing outstanding contributions to the School by former faculty, staff, and administrators): Frank Effinger, A “living legend” as the boys varsity ice hockey and lacrosse coach who amassed over 200 victories and numerous league championships during a 26-year career at Rye Country Day, before embarking on his current career as professional scout for several National Hockey League teams.
