Nourishing the Needy

Rye Boy Scout Troop 2 held its first Drive up, Drop off food drive in downtown Rye January 18. Within five hours, on our National Day of Service, the Scouts collected enough groceries to fill four pickup trucks, as well as $640 in donations for Bread of Life, our local food pantry.

Troop members send a warm thank-you to the generous donors who made the event a success. At a time when everyone must be socially distant, the Troop, which is celebrating its 101st year, is grateful to have found a way to bring people closer together.

As the pandemic continues, demands for Bread of Life’s services increase as their supplies diminish. They currently feed over 800 families. To donate, call 602-9783.
