Obituaries: Davis Hood

Davis D. Hood, a longtime resident of Rye, New York, passed away on May 24, 2019 at the age of 85.

 

Born on July 9, 1933, in a small-town Indian reservation in Wabeno, Wisconsin, he was the son of Davis Ira and Irene (Allie) Hood.

 

In 1952, he entered the United States Army where he served honorably in Germany during the Korean War. He was discharged as a Specialist Third Class in 1955.

 

A member of Teamster Local 456, Mr. Hood drove an oil tank. In his free time, he spent many happy hours at the Rye Fish & Game Club.

 

Mr. Hood is survived by his son, David Hood of Rye. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary (Quagliozzi), and son, Donald.

 

A Memorial mass will be celebrated at The Church of the Resurrection in Rye on Saturday, June 15 at 9:45 a.m.

 

Donations in Mr. Hood’s memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Association Respite Care.
