A large crowd gathered on the Village Green on Monday for the Memorial Day Ceremonies. American Legion Rye Post 128 organized a banner of a day.

Before the traditional ceremony, the Post, with the help of two Boy Scouts, unveiled the new flag disposal box to be placed in City Hall.

It was a day of memorable speeches by World War II hero Frank Tolve, Author Benjamin Patton, grandson of General George S. Patton, and dedicated volunteer Arthur Stampleman.

A full photo spread will be published in our June 8 issue.
