Voters have been given misleading and inaccurate information about the Rye Democrats’ choice for Mayor in the upcoming Democratic primary. I am writing to inform you that the Rye Democrats endorsed only Josh Cohn for Mayor.
Fact one: Two candidates sought the Democratic Party’s mayoral endorsement: Josh Cohn, the incumbent Mayor, and Danielle Tagger-Epstein, a former City Council member. The Democratic Party chose Mayor Cohn for his exceptional leadership. Among other accomplishments, he guided the City in
carrying out much-needed major improvements. And he did so in a fiscally responsible manner, in spite of the pandemic.
Fact two: After failing to win the Democratic Party’s endorsement, Ms. Tagger-Epstein publicly announced that she is challenging Mayor Cohn as the “only Democratic candidate for mayor.” Hearing this, some voters believe she is the Democratic Party nominee. That is patently false. Voters should be aware that
Mayor Josh Cohn is the only official candidate of the Rye Democratic Party. We urge every Democrat in Rye to vote for Josh Cohn in the June 22 Democratic primary election.
