Police Blotter 3/10: Fraudulent Loan Application & Loud Party

3/3 Walk-in requested report for fraud offense.

 

3/3 Hemi in that V-Dub? County Police requested another unit for assistance with three vehicles drag racing in Playland Parking lot, one described as VW. GOA.

 

3/3 Caller stated Golden Retriever was running in street, ran into property on Martin Butler Court. Searched area, but K-9 was gone.

 

3/3 Fraud. Two walk-in complainants reported unemployment identity theft.

 

3/2 Off-duty officer reported parked, unoccupied car in new section of Greenwood Union Cemetery. Made contact with registered owner.

 

3/2 Officer received needle in his thumb during arrest for criminal possession of 500 milligrams of cocaine, Milton Road/Sand Street. Problem addressed at scene by EMS.

 

3/2 Caller stated Cedar Street residents continued to put trash out and it was blown down the street, had been happening for days. Resident notified; picked up trash belonging to her.

 

3/2 Caller stated there was water main break; water was coming up from closed manhole, Midland/Peck avenues, 6:31 a.m. As per DPW, this was recurring issue.

 

3/1 Issue minimized. WCPD requested unit to check Playland Parking lot for someone on minibike. Party was advised to put bike away.

 

3/1 Pokemon Gone. Suspicious vehicle, 3:07 a.m., Cedar/Purchase streets. Operator stated they were driving around playing Pokemon Go.

 

3/1 Mother called from Wilton, Conn., 2:32 a.m., stated her daughter had not responded to calls/texts for two hours. Phone location was Marriott in Rye where she was to meet male party. Officer confirmed her black Toyota Corolla was at location, but daughter was not listed as guest. Father was on way. Officer informed mother that he would have to wait by daughter’s car until she returned to it. Front desk manager stated no one fitting her description had entered.

 

2/28 Walk-in Greenhaven resident filed report regarding fraudulent attempt to take out loan in his name.

 

2/28 MVA, Cottage Street/Midland Avenue, 6:59 p.m. Motorist had previous DWI conviction within ten years. VW impounded.

 

2/27 Deer struck by car, Graham Court/Locust Avenue. Deer dispatched.

 

2/27 Caller reported male dressed in black crawling in woods near Charlotte Street. All cars dispatched due to previous incident where vehicle drove across lawn. Party was experiencing a medical emergency, transported to Greenwich Hospital.

 

2/27 Injured deer in front of Midland Avenue residence. Animal dispatched.

 

2/27 That would be thick book. Deep pothole in roadway in front of Locust Avenue driveway. Notification made in Red Book for DPW on Monday.

 

2/27 MVA Hit-and-Run, BPR near Citibank, 12:03 a.m. Silver pickup drove over UPS/USPS mailboxes, fled scene. Private fencing by church rectory also damaged.

 

2/26 Caller stated there was loud music, karaoke coming from Maple Avenue house, 10:16 p.m. Spoke with homeowner, advised them to shut it down for the night.

 

2/26 Owner of Oakland Beach Deli stated woman had been outside his place of business since approximately 7 a.m. asking patrons if they would buy her coffee. He was concerned for safety of his employees and well-being of the person, 5:37 p.m. After EMS evaluation for exposure to cold weather, party was transported to Greenwich Hospital.

 

2/26 Further fraud offenses reported, Marlene Court, also John Jay Place … and everywhere else in town, mostly illegal unemployment claims.

 

2/26 Hedge find. Rye Beach Avenue complainant stated vehicle drove into her hedge previous night.

 

2/26 Property check, 12:38 a.m. Moved along homeless female observed loitering in front of former TD Bank. Advised her to stay warm at train station. She was headed to shelter next day.

 

2/25 Dirt motorcycle reported racing in roadway, Midland Avenue/Palisade Road. Spoke to parties involved. They were stopping their activity.

 

2/25 Unemployment fraud reported by Apawamis Avenue resident.

 

2/25 “Please open school. Please open school. Please …” Criminal Mischief. Graffiti reported on sidewalk, Apawamis Avenue/Milton Road.
