4/28 Apawamis Club caller reported gas odor, 5:30 p.m. Advised to clear building. Assisted RFD with crowd management. Con Ed determined building safe.

 

4/28 Count to 600 (10 mins.) – hit “off” switch. Leaf blowers reported in use, Orchard Lane, 4:11 p.m. Made contact with neighbor in area. GOA, 4:27 p.m. No violation observed.

 

4/28 600, 599, 598…City Code violation, leaf blowers, BPR/Central Avenue, 3:07 p.m. Searched area, GOA, 5:17 p.m.

 

4/28 Leaf blowers! Milton Road/Rectory Street. Warning issued. Also, LBs reported on Manursing Way and Milton Road, but no violations observed.

 

4/28 Chamberlain Street caller stated their car alarm went off, wanted check of area, 3:40 a.m. Canvassed area, nothing observed.

 

4/27 Midland Avenue complainant stated marijuana smell was emanating from his backyard. He believed it was kids by his garage. No smokers discovered.

 

4/27 Party reported being victim of identity theft. Sworn statements taken.

 

4/27 Whack-job. Leaf blowers reported, Evergreen Avenue/Hillside Road, 12:05 p.m. Was weed whacker in use.

 

4/27 Rule’s a rule, but, duh, common sense? Caller requested assistance in shutting off 18-wheeer that had been running for past hour, Pondview Road/Theodore Fremd Avenue. Advised operator of issue with running vehicle for extended length of time.

 

4/26 Mitch and Nancy? Complainant, living on right side of Cedar Place home, reported neighbor on left side making loud stomping noise in attic, 11:05 p.m. Contacted both parties who agreed it was non-police matter.

 

4/26 Caller stated his staff at La Fenice had taken in counterfeit $20 bill. Suspects ciao on arrival.

 

4/26 Loud party reported, Highland Road/Meadow Place, 11:20 p.m. Homeowner said he would turn music off.

 

4/25 So it goes. Caller reported leaf blower in use, Forest/Rye Beach avenues, 5:03 p.m. Canvassed area, unfounded, 5:13 p.m.

 

4/25 Party reported large group in Allendale Drive/Griffin Place area with no social distancing, 4:17 p.m. Officers informed parties in roadway that they could not congregate in middle of road. Parties moved from middle.

 

4/25 Leaf blowers, Pine Lane, 3:09 p.m. Workers advised to contact Building Department, work ceased.

 

4/25 Groups of youths reported on Rye High football field, 9:32 a.m. Officers used in-car PA system to advise youths on field to vacate.

 

4/24 Caller reported large RV blocking driveway/access to 120 Post Road construction site, 6:13 a.m. Heavy damage observed on right side of vehicle, no owner/operator on scene. Hannigan’s towed.

 

4/23 Suspicious vehicle. Party in dark-colored VW with tinted windows appeared to be watching houses in area. Party checked out. Stated he was fraud investigator in area for work, then left.

 

4/23 Stop work order had been issued by Building Dept. for BPR construction site where work was going on according to complainant. Job shut down.

 

4/23 Kindness, People. Road rage incident between driver and walker on Playland Parkway. Walker stated man yelled out his name when she stated she was going to call police. Canvassed Bulkley Manor area, no vehicle matching complainant’s description found.

 

4/23 Long gone. Leaf blowers reported, Dearborn Avenue, 3:56 p.m. GOA, 4:25 p.m.

 

4/23 Marine unit provided transport to Hen Island for Rye building inspectors.
