Police Blotter August 23

 

8/15: Complainant stated unknown person deposited fake check into her TD Bank account.

 

8/15: Complaint of commercial vehicle parked overnight for several days, Chestnut Street. Spoke with family member, advised of ordinance. Warning issued.

 

8/15: Going clean. Milton Road caller reported male riding dirt bike, who turned into Milton Road residence, habitually speeds past marina area causing dangerous condition. Alleged party was spoken to.

 

8/15: Scofflaw violation, Car Park 3. Vehicle towed.

 

8/15: Born to be mild. Caller reported group of unknown motorcyclists circling her Lindbergh Avenue/Chamberlain Street, making lots of noise. Spoke to parties in question; happened to be Rye resident teaching son how to ride.

 

8/15: Toad rage. Caller stated white SUV almost hit her while she was walking her dog near Forest/Turf avenues. Party then turned around and shouted at her. Spoke with caller, canvassed area. Unable to locate vehicle.

 

8/14: Make that 15. Callers reported loud crash when 18-wheeler took out fire hydrant, Halstead Place/Rye Beach Avenue. Tractor-trailer was standing by in Playland Circle awaiting private road service to replace three blown-out rear tires.

 

8/14: AKA, bit-and-run. “Dine and ditch” at Pure Organic, Purchase Street. Owner wished to document.

 

8/13: Likely story. Illegally parked vehicle, end of Dearborn Avenue, 2:30 a.m. Occupied by male operator, female passenger. Stated they were just hanging out. Ordered to move along.

 

8/13: Male observed walking alone inside Rye Town Park, 2:33 a.m. Warning issued, advised to stay out of park after dark. Dispersed from area.

 

8/13: Adelaide Street caller stated two suspicious men in green vests had been in/out of idling gray 4-door sedan, and loitering at residence where owners were out of town. Were uniformed Con Ed employees performing inspections in area.

 

8/12: Cats got her tongue. Walk-in complainant was receiving constant, unwanted phone calls from person regarding the adoption of cats. After reporting person, complainant asked that caller no longer contact her. Officer contacted caller, advised to cease all contact with complainant.

 

8/12: Walk-in wished to document identity theft.

 

8/12: Orchard Drive caller reported neighbor was working on their car in the street on some kind of lift system, 9:05 a.m. No violations observed.

 

8/11: Raccoon was acting rabid, Brookdale Place. Animal snared, removed from property.

 

8/11: Caller reported vehicles parked on Jean Street in violation of City Code. Summonses issued.

 

8/11: Real Cad. Caller reported over 911 that her car was hit by tan Caddy which did not stop and continued south on BPR. No report due to lack of information on runaway vehicle.

 

8/10: Trees reported being cut down, Claremont Avenue. Tree service had permission from County to remove hanging tree from above the Claremont home.

 

8/10: Caller reported coyote in area of Forest Avenue/Martin Butler Court, 5:23 p.m.

 

8/10: Caller reported multiple leaf blowers, Kirby Lane. GOA.

 

8/10: Loud party reported, Packard Court/Old Post Road. Spoke to homeowner, music turned off for night.

 

8/9: Complainant stated she parked her car on Purdy Avenue, outside Town Dock, when she returned there was heavy damage to rear of her vehicle.

8/9: Caught snapping. North Street caller stated he had a snapping turtle on his front porch and was unable to walk outside, 2:40 p.m. Turtle removed, placed at Playland Lake.

 

 

 

8/9: Flying off the shelf. Rye Road sign missing by Sound Drive. DPW notified.

 

8/8: Caller stated they heard audible alarm of unknown type, Ellis Court/Midland Avenue. Was discarded fire alarm in dumpster. Condition corrected.

 

8/8: One-pointer. Caller stated three youths were playing basketball in road near BPR/Central Avenue and giving finger to passersby, caller. GOA.

 

8/8: Caller stated someone parked their vehicle against his at Station Plaza and he could not drive it, 6:46 p.m.

 

8/7: Loose Pit Bull reported in apartment building yard, Forest Avenue. Spoke with caller, advised him to speak with landlord regarding unleashed dog.

 

8/6: All units canvassing for burgundy or red SUV involved in shooting on Weber Drive, Port Chester, near City line.

 

8/6: Caller reported man on bench at train station possibly doing drugs. Turned over to MTA Police.

 

8/6: Complaint of solicitors in front of Starbucks. Male in yellow traffic vest advised to obtain permit at City Hall. Warning issued.

 

8/4: Walk-in reported female, late teens, walking in her pajamas with no shoes near Beaty Court/Midland Avenue, noon. Appeared disoriented.
