12/26: North Carolina resident took US Air flight to LaGuardia 12/25, but three bags were not there, delivered next day to Rye address. Items from all three bags missing: including jewelry, iPad, iPod, Macbook Pro, DVD, and Kenneth Cole briefcase.

 

12/27: Hill Street resident reported hit-and-run property damage in front of home.

 

12/27: During storm, tree came down in Station Plaza, caused damage to Audi A4, Subaru Impreza, and Acura MDX. Buy American?

 

12/28: Complainant concerned about neighbor’s tree damaged during storm the night before. Wants it removed. Worried tree, adjacent to parents’ home and cracked in half, will fall on home. Tree is on vacant lot, possibly owned by another resident.

 

12/28: Car alarm soundes on Milton Road for over two hours. Upon arrival, officer witnessed five cycles of alarm before writing summons. Vehicle towed.

 

12/28: Rye father said his son left new iPhone on cement wall in front of CVS. Returned several minutes later but was gone.

 

12/28: Officer conducted stationary patrol on Midland Avenue to monitor youths from prior noise complaint. One youth entered vehicle and drove away. While making left onto Midland from Ellis Court, driver failed to signal. Driver possessed a DJ license; operating out of class. Vehicle towed.

 

12/29: Unknown party hacked into AOL email account of victim, authorized two separate bank transfers for two separate Australian accounts. (People still use AOL?)

 

12/29: Audi with defective passenger-side headlamp and excessive window tint pulled over. Driver, Rye resident, unable to provide license or valid insurance. NYSPIN showed registration and privilege to drive suspended. Placed under arrest. During inventory of vehicle officer discovered unlabeled Rx container with three pills. Driver didn’t have prescription for Adderall. Charged with litany of offenses, including criminal possession of controlled substance.

 

12/29: Officer observed grey Mitsubishi Eclipse traveling north on BPR make right turn on Peck Avenue without signaling. Pulled over. Asked driver for license and registration. Driver said he did not have ID. Strong odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from breath and bloodshot, watery eyes.
Driver said he did not have a drink, but failed multiple sobriety tests; alcosensor test was positive. Transported to HQ for processing. Released on bail after refusing to submit to chemical test three times.

 

12/30: Resident lost wallet containing debit card, license, and $25 cash on Purdy Avenue.

 

12/30: Stamford resident arrested after officer observed his vehicle had stolen plates.

 

12/31: Unauthorized accounts opened in complainant’s name at Pentagon Federal Credit Union. Another Chinese Cyber Attack?

 

1/2: Centre Street resident reported navigation stolen from vehicle.

 

1/2: Caller said three moving company employees came to his residence 12/16 and disassembled desk. Watch and ring, received from wife for 1978 engagement, discovered missing 12/31.

 

1/3: Unknown persons placed portable stop sign on driveway of Mildred Avenue resident. Homeowner stated ex-wife might be responsible. “Stop! In the name of Love.”

 

1/3: Detective notified village officer of graffiti (“SILK 2011”) found on exterior wall of Boston Post Road business.

 

1/4: Walk-in said boyfriend, who was arrested in December for posing as a police officer in Elm Place business, received multiple threats through her phone on separate dates. Did not want to press charges.

 

1/5: Unknown perps spray-painted administrative doors and light pole at Forest Avenue and Dearborn. Approximate cost to repair: $25.

 

1/5: The long arm of the felon. Complainant was witness to California criminal case over 20 years ago. Convicted party filed civil case while in prison. Complainant says he is n falsely pursued by California Civil Court.

 

1/5: Resident filed statement after strange interaction with unknown male party at coffee shop. Conversation started with simple pleasantries but turned uncomfortable. The 19-year-old gave creepy white middle-aged male her Facebook address. Obtained his at conclusion of conversation. Checked his status: portrays self as 20-year-old female; had 15 young female friends. OMG!

 

1/6: Unknown perps damaged side garage entrance door of Midland address. Damage estimated $200.

 

1/6: Complainant said husband, who resides in New Canaan, NY, was sending unwanted emails.

 

1/6: Report of possibly unconscious female in vehicle parked in Forest Avenue lot.

 

1/7: Complainant reported fold-up bike stolen from train station.

 

1/7: Caller said ex-boyfriend at her door, will not leave. Boyfriend had verbal argument with 19-year-old girlfriend. Advised to leave area and not return. Did so.

 

1/7: Caller reported naked white male teenager ran out of Loudon Woods onto Post Road crying. Police responded, observed him walking north on McCullough Place. Unidentified male appeared to be under the influence and not of sound mind. Placed in handcuffs for transport to HQ. Ambulance requested. Male uncooperative and intoxicated. Unsurprisingly, did not possess ID.

 

1/9: Resident received email from BancCorp regarding Visa card opened in his name. Thought it might be junk mail, but later received numerous emails regarding account. Was able to block Visa card.

 

1/10: DPW staff called saying DPW worker helping elderly man who fell. Officer observed male in roadway supported at back and neck with cardboard boxes. Was conscious, able to answer questions, but did have severe laceration on back of head. Covered wound and supported neck until EMS arrived. Transported to Greenwich Hospital.

 

1/10: Graffiti discovered on rear exterior wall of former Biltmore car dealership.

 

1/10: New Jersey said that on 8/9/10 was contacted via email by Rye-based lending company regarding life insurance policy. Spoke via phone with two employees. They requested documents, personal information, $15,000 to start loan. Never heard back.

 

1/10: Complainant stated her AOL account used to grant authority to her banking institutions (TD Bank and UBS) to fraudulently wire money out of her accounts to West Coast account.

 

1/11: RHS security reported white male, wearing gray jacket, jeans, and baseball hat, who appeared be in medical distress, heading north on Milton Road. Party identified self as Bangladesh native; NYSPIN check revealed he had a warrant out. Detained for further investigation and transported to HQ.

 

1/11: Walk-in lost his wallet 11/15 in either Rye or Port Chester parking lot. Since then, credit card built up odd charges on Amazon.com and Rhapsody.com.

 

1/11: White Plains resident wrote bad check to Rye business from a closed account for $168 in home repair materials.

 

1/11: Resident stated unknown person fraudulently filed his 2010 federal tax return electronically 2/28/11 and received refund. IRS investigating matter.

 

1/11: Hit and run reported on Highland Road. Driver fled scene and left vehicle in roadway.

 

1/12: Officer observed 2003 red Hyundai with California plates flashing unauthorized blue lights on public roadway. Could not produce valid driver’s license. NYSPIN revealed he had active warrant in White Plains. Turned over to that department.

 

1/13: Complainant was victim of attempted scam involving grandson’s name. Unknown male caller said her grandson was involved in minor accident. Another party claiming to be grandson (using his correct name) jumped on the same call and requested Western Union Wire Transfer. No money transferred; all family members in good health.

 

1/13: Resident said someone took large parcel that was delivered accidentally to her neighbor’s front door.

 

1/13: Over $1,000 removed from Purchase Street eatery without permission. Property supposed to be deposited at TD Bank by employee 1/2. Inquiry to bank manager revealed deposit never made.

 

1/13: Desk officer received call from Suffern PD concerning person they arrested that is registered as elopee from Rye Hospital Center. Officer called RHC, spoke with head nurse/administrator, who said RHC did not want Tuxedo Park resident back.

 

1/14: Officers approached on Elm Place by female and male who staggered out of bar at 3:50 a.m.. Officer told female to wait: he would call her a cab. She wobbled over and got into dark-colored Audi parked on Elm. Harrison resident started her vehicle and began driving. Stopped Audi in front of both marked police cars, rolled down window, had verbal exchange with male friend. Officers ask male to tell her to pull over immediately and turn vehicle off. He did so; she pulled over on Elm.

 

Harrison woman idled for a few seconds and then took off down Elm. Officer turned on lights and siren and pursued. She made turn onto Theodore Fremd without signaling or stopping for red light. Continued at unreasonable rate of speed, made left through green light without signaling at Purchase Street while passing over double yellow lines. Traveled north on Purchase through Highland Road intersection going straight in the left-hand turn lane. Continued on Purchase going around 70 mph. Failed to stop at the flashing red light at Purchase and Ridge Street, eventually making right on red at Highland intersection without signaling or stopping. Kept speeding until she made right onto Pheasant Drive, where she weaved until coming to a stop in her driveway.

 

Officer exited vehicle, female stumbled out of her’s. Female made brief attempt to get to front door, then attempted to evade officer by running around vehicle. Yelled she just wanted her mom, everything was fine because she was home now. Second officer able to corral her. Placed in handcuffs and informed she was under arrest. Began to cry. Said,  “I’m sorry I’m drunk, I don’t know what I’m doing”.

 

Offender transported to HQ where she failed multiple sobriety tests and blew a .19%. Often hysterically crying, but at times would apologize and speak rationally. At other times became angry and blamed incident on past boyfriend who “f***** her over”. Also blamed actions on family because she grew up in an “unstructured environment”. Claimed her father died at an early age and brother was paralyzed because of similar incident. Later said she had a very good family and they would “take car of this for her”. Added that she had just seen “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” and said the entire fiasco was a result of her being scarred due to its content. Repeatedly told officer he should “help her out”. At one point said: “I’m a very generous person and you can ask people how generous I can be”. When officer said he tried to help her out by calling taxi, she became insolent and said tickets and arrest were BS. Asked officer if he “wanted a medal” for his actions. While officer working on paperwork, offender fell asleep in holding cell.

1/14: Resident reported a silver Macbook Pro stolen from home. Complainant was away during theft, but 20-year-old daughter was home. She said she had some people over for a get together 1/6, when it might have been stolen. Father gave laptop to son who arrived home 1/8 and noticed it missing.

 

1/14: Caller reported male, likely on drugs, in area of Forest Avenue. Male located in dark clothing standing on sidewalk. When approached, appeared worried and told officer he walked from New Rochelle by way of highway and was lost. Sixteen-year-old had been reported missing by New Rochelle PD. Reunited with parents.

 

1/14: Officer observed man driving 1998 red Honda on public roadway with unapproved headlamps. Also threw litter from his vehicle onto roadway. NYSPIN revealed privilege to operate vehicle in New York suspended. Arrested and released on $100 cash bail.

 

1/15: Manager reported guest of hotel refused to pay bill. Guest also harassing hotel staff. Interviewed Rye Brook offender, who said she would pay balance later in day and leave tomorrow.

 

1/15: White Toyota two-door sedan pulled over after making unsafe left turn onto 95 from Midland. Driver, a Mahopac resident, had watery bloodshot eyes, slow and slurred speech, and strong odor of alcohol emanating from breath. Admitted to consuming “a few beers” at Buffalo Wild Wings. Failed all sobriety tests and blew a .16%.

 

1/15: Observed vehicle traveling south on Midland with a broken front windshield. Stopped it at 95 North ramp. Strong odor of alcohol emanated from driver’s breath, and he tried to hand over phone when asked for ID. Finally obtained Ecuadorian ID card. Did not possess driver’s license. Placed under arrest for driving without a license, and after failing sobriety tests and blowing a .19, charged with DWI.

 

1/16: Complainant reported another student from daughter’s school wrote a nasty message on Facebook. Has been an ongoing issue and victim stated her personal property had been damaged but not reported to PD.

 

1/16: Multiple calls made to complainant’s home line regarding a computer virus. Caller was trying to get complainant to turn computer on and follow “simple steps” to rid it of supposed virus. Told caller they did not want to follow steps, felt it was a bogus, at which point scam artist hung up.

 

1/16: Officer dispatched to Rye Hospital to check on female patient who swallowed two AA batteries. No aid necessary. Hospital workers requested transport to Sound Shore Medical Center.
