Police Blotter 10-19-12


10/3: Vehicle illegally parked on Boston Post Road by Resurrection Church, left wheels to curb, summons issued.


10/3: Stop sign violation, Julian Street/Grandview Avenue. Operator unlicensed, vehicle unregistered. Unlucky too.


10/3: Caller stated that male with beard and gray shirt, jeans walking around Harbor Terrace neighborhood asking where people live. Allegedly on behalf of local political candidate.


10/3: Wappanocca Avenue resident reported she believes someone entered her house while she was out. Interior/exterior appeared secure.


10/4: Report of an overnight break-in at Manursing Island Club pool bar.


10/5: Officer aided party who broke his leg on Apawamis golf range.


10/5: Apawamis Avenue resident reported bicycle left on her property.


10/5: Life can be so un-flare. Vessel stopped, boarded for bow-riding, Port Chester Harbor. Captain unable to produce registration. Warning issued and summons for expired flares.


10/5: Vessel boarding conducted in P.C. Harbor. Two warnings issued, no horn, expired visual distress. Summons for damaged nav lights.


10/5: Environmental conservation (Encon) check at Oakland Beach. Four fishermen checked, two violations observed. Summonses for one short striper, three short porgies.


10/6: Motorist stated he hit plates in road at Purchase/Cedar streets, tore out front of his vehicle.


10/6: Theodore Fremd shop owner reported damage to chain across driveway. Vehicular traffic using private parking lot, chains broken several times.


10/6: Elm Street caller reported suspicious male hanging around Longford’s.


10/6: Operator of blue Honda reported possibly driving drunk, Apawamis/Midland avenues.


10/6: Report of kids screaming in Rye Road. Officer dispatched. Kids waiting for taxi, group warned.


10/7: Caller stated he came home to his Purchase Street home at 11:30 p.m. and found his apartment turned upside down.


10/7: Three fishermen checked at Playland Cove. No violations observed.


10/7: County police requested assistance for possible assault at Playland Ice Casino. Cars 10/12 sent.


10/8: Large coyote reported seen, noon, Ridgewood Drive/ Locust Avenue.


10/8: Caller reported large water main broken inside Soundview Avenue home. Car 12/RFD dispatched.


10/9: Walk-in stated he left cell phone on Locust firehouse counter and could not locate it.


10/9: Passing motorist reported loose German Shepherd outside Rye Vet Clinic, North Street.


10/10: Leaving the scene. Report of two leaf blowers at same time, Overdale Road. GOA.


10/11: Subject observed crawling out from under I95 overpass by Midland Avenue. Party advised of facilities available to him.


10/12: Osborn Retirement Community Security reported a party on grounds near midnight, male wearing sweater and jeans. Grounds searched, negative results.


10/12: Taxi Squad. Report of a disoriented male, 3 a.m. Depot Plaza side of train station, bald, wearing vest. Party identified, requested a cab to NYC.


10/13: Elmwood Avenue caller reported suspicious activity, offered to meet officers and direct them. Reported trail of blood to neighbor’s home into garage where they saw a knife with blood on it. Officers dispatched.


10/13: Deer prudence. Caller reported deer in middle of Boston Post Road. Moved off road to island across from Rye Middle/High school campus.


10/13: Attempted break-in of car, damage to vehicle, Kirby Lane.


10/13: Beagle bagel. Beagle with collar reported on Fenton Street resident’s property. Area searched, beagle GOA.


10/13: McCullough Place resident reported someone withdrew funds from her account with fraudulent checks.


10/13: Dis-Grace-ful. Leaf and lawn mower being operated simultaneously in violation of City Code, Grace Church Street.


10/13: Vessel aground in channel near Shenorock Shore Club. Sea-tow notified.


10/14: Caller reported loud party disturbing his peace, Chamberlain Street/ Lindbergh Avenue. No music upon arrival, party cleaning up.


10/14: Roosevelt Avenue resident reported black lab in her back yard with no collar. Officers dog-sat until owner arrived.


10/15: Larceny from strongbox reported, Theall Road.


10/16: Complainant wished to document strange behavior of Midland Avenue neighbor next door.
