Police Blotter 11-30-12

 

11/10: Officer observed youths skateboarding on Garver Drive. Advised to go to safer place to skateboard.

 

11/10: Con Ed reported male and female on premise taking pictures on site without permission.

 

11/10: Forest Avenue resident complained of large group of youths trying to enter daughter’s small gathering. Dispersed.

 

11/10: Regrouped! Large group of youths interfering with traffic at Dearborn/Milton. Canvassed area and warned several groups to stay out of streets and on sidewalks.

 

11/10: Report of suspicious vehicle at Playland Parkway ramp of BPR. Cablevision employee for hurricane recovery ran out of gas.

 

11/10: Jimmie a break. Noise complaint. Report of teenager playing guitar on his front porch, Hewlett/Milton.

 

11/10: Midland Avenue resident reported neighbor irate over his generator’s noise. Explained generator automatically kicks in when power off. Looking into having company come out to lessen noise.

 

11/11: Report of driver of gray minivan looking to steal generator attached to pole.

 

11/12: Packard Court homeowner reported newspaper delivery guy stuck on his front lawn.

 

11/12: Purchase Street manager wanted a party removed from business.

 

11/12: Stop the presses! Packard Street homeowner reported that his newspaper delivery guy got stuck on front lawn.

 

11/13: Report of man in the middle of road by Oakland Beach Avenue/US1 in electric wheelchair, not visible at night, creating hazard. Party GOA. Extra patrol in area.

 

11/14: Suspicious vehicle reported parked in Grace Church Street resident’s driveway. Vehicle left when complainant turned on outside lights. Area checked, negative results.

 

11/14: Patron reported passed out in La Panetiere.

 

11/14: Caller reported male in woods behind her home wearing blue jeans, leather coat. Stated there had been a rash of deer decapitations in area, fears man might be involved.

 

11/15: Some things never chain. Complainant said there were workers near Forest/Manursing avenues using a saw.

 

11/15: Deer struck by driver. Deer ran off. Driver provided with MV104.

 

11/16: Female resident reported her dog has been barking and is worried someone may be outside home. All appeared in order.

 

11/16: Really Ed, or just a Con? Peter Jay Lane resident reported she heard banging against side of her house, then moments later received call from party identifying himself as Con Ed worker. Advised they would be working in area to restore power. Check of area, no Con Ed.

 

11/16: BPR resident reported parties on his property claiming to be with Con Ed.

 

11/16: Franklin Avenue resident reported that at about 1124 hours a red Gremlin with a green logo pulled in front of her home, party slowly stepped out of vehicle, snapped pictures of her house.

 

11/16: When it rains…BPR resident reported trouble with Con Ed employee. Settled dispute, filed complaint with Con Ed foreman regarding employee.

 

11/17: Larceny reported at Rhythm In Rye. Alleged robbers, two middle-aged Hispanic women caught on surveillance camera. RPD Detectives following-up.

 

11/17: La Salle Avenue resident reported she believes someone stole her wedding band from her home.

 

11/17: Complainant stated that she believes someone removed front license plate from her vehicle.

 

11/17: Report of several 10-12 yr. old boys throwing rocks at cars, Florence/Park avenues.

 

11/18: Coyote sighted, Green Avenue, 10:15 p.m.

 

11/19: Still inside reading Proust? Walk-in reported bike in rack at Rye Free Reading Room for 8 months.

 

11/19: Le Pain Quotidien reported larceny. Male with flannel coat stole property. Canvassed area, negative results. Surveillance video being reviewed.

 

11/20: MTA police blocked Purchase Street by Depot Plaza. Closed road temporarily, truck unloading equipment.

 

11/20: Deer struck by vehicle, Playland Parkway.

 

11/20: Caller reported deer struck by vehicle, Milton Road/Pine Lane.

 

11/21: Caller reported gray vehicle, possibly Mitsubishi, with tinted windows driving in and out of neighborhoods. Area canvassed, negative results.

 

11/21: Rye City Court, RPD officer reported extorting emails and statements by a Rye resident.

 

11/21: RPD officer reported receiving unwanted personal emails at home from unknown party.

 

11/21: Vandalized car in Kirby Lane driveway reported. Window smashed. Civil statement, owner deposition taken.

 

11/21: Deer with broken leg in back of BPR residence dispatched in safe location by officer. DPW to pick up.

 

11/21: They’re back! Purchase Street caller reported suspects from past larceny in the store.

 

11/21: Having a bad window day. Kirby Lane caller reported second incident of vehicle windows being broken on premise.

 

11/23: Walk-in requested to document incident between his dog and an unknown party.

 

11/23: Police boat requested to help locate fire on Hen Island. RFD cancelled request. Fire located, burning debris on island.

 

11/23: State Police reported 911 call hang up. Returned call, party said never mind.

 

11/23: 911 dispatch call from Forest Avenue/Grace Church Street resident regarding vehicle peeling out when confronted. Cars 10, 16, 17 dispatched.

 

11/24: Could have sworn I parked it right here. Nevada vehicle impounded at Station Plaza, suspended registration.

 

11/24: Theodore Fremd resident complained mother was receiving phone calls soliciting bank account information.

 

11/25: Complaint of multiple leaf-blowers, Bennett Street/Lindberg Avenue. Landscapers advised of City Code and restrictions.

 

11/25: Snow Blow Go. Grace Church Street complainant reported stolen snow blower.

 

11/26: Several teenagers reported playing “hackeysack” in middle of Overlook Place disturbing residents.

 

11/26: Amy’s Pure Foods reported lost or stolen property.

 

11/26: Social graces. Smoke Shop owner turned in Social Security card, train pass left at his store.

 

11/26: Blues on Blue. Summons issued, vehicle parked in handicap spot without permit.
