Police Blotter 3/28: Dead Deer and After Hours Party

3/22 Illegally parked vehicle, Grandview Avenue near Evergreen Avenue, no parking zone. Summons issued.

3/22 Illegally parked vehicle on Hillside Road. Summons issued.

3/22 Woof night. Caller stated dog in neighborhood was barking on/off all night, Forest/Rye Beach avenues, 3:38 a.m. Located dog; resident was dog-sitting, having trouble getting dog inside. After short chase, success.

3/21 City Code violation, construction after 6:30 p.m., Hunter/Sunset lanes, 7:03 p.m. Spoke with foreman who stopped all work.

3/21 Summons? Caller reported multiple leaf blowers in use, Ridgewood Drive, 9:24 a.m. Observed violation.

3/20 DPW foreman notified of dead deer on beach, Rye Town Park.

3/20 Stolen vehicle reported, John Jay Place.

3/20 Reveille. Caller said loud music was coming from Rye Town Park parking lot, 5:21 a.m.

3/19 Caller stated black or dark-colored Audi SUV, with young male operator at the wheel, was traveling at high rate of speed on Apawamis Avenue toward Forest Avenue. GOA.

3/19 Gym dandy. Caller stated she left her bag in Rye Neck HS parking lot by gym or track area. Requested officer assist her in locating it. Bag found, returned to owner.

3/19 Definitely 911 call. Complainant stated white Porsche was left with motor running for over one hour, Elm Place, 10:29 a.m. Owner turned it off.

3/18 Multiple leaf blowers reported in use, Holly Lane. Summons issued.

3/17 Walk-in from Central Avenue reported license plates were stolen.

3/17 Black BMW with temporary tag towed/impounded by Vincent’s, Midland Avenue/I-95 entrance ramp.

3/17 Double-bogey. Assisted Harrison PD with canvassing for male suspect in burglary-in-progress. Suspect fled onto Apawamis golf course from Hilltop Lane.

3/16 … Pants on fire. Noise complaint regarding leaf blowers, Forest Avenue. No leaf blowers were being used nor landscaping company present.

3/16 Imagination. Grace Church Street resident complained about noise from leaf blowers. Upon arrival, no leaf blowers or machinery in use.

3/16 Pondview Road resident wanted RPD to follow up with neighbor who continues to bother her. Stated said neighbor entered her house on multiple occasions while her home was being renovated. Party was not at home, but officer said he would follow up later.

3/16 Resident reported more than one leaf blower in use, Overlook Place, 8:46 a.m. Officer assigned to check.

3/16 Deerhaven. Dead deer on side of road, Barlow Lane/BPR, 8:04 a.m.

3/15 Caller, who was at corner of Rye Beach/Forest avenues, stated she observed male encouraging his dog to chase squirrels in Rye Town Park. Canvassed area, negative results.

3/15 And so it goes…Caller reported multiple leaf blowers, Cedar Place/Manursing Avenue. Landscapers advised of City Code.

3/15 …and goes. Caller reported multiple gas-powered machines in use, Meadow Place. Summons issued.

3/15 Tank you, officer! Disabled vehicle, BPR. Caller stated they were out of gas; escorted to Mobil station, 12:51 a.m.

3/13 Suspicious vehicle. Caller reported a vehicle with its lights on in Milton School parking lot near playground, 8:04 p.m. Canvas yielded negative results for vehicle, but youth who was training in the field advised to finish up for the night.

3/13 Mali-boo. Disabled rental vehicle, driver side flat front tire, BPR/Cedar Street, 1:42 a.m. – white Chevy Malibu.

3/12 Age-old story. Caller stated group of teens placed cones in roadway that are obstructing traffic, 10:09 p.m. Cones removed from road.

3/12 Third party caller reported vehicle possibly struck pole, airbag deployed, BPR/Playland Parkway, 7:31 p.m. Officer took pictures of scene.

3/12 Report of debris fell on vehicle and is blocking road, Car Park 4.

3/11 Caller stated neighbor was playing loud music at Wappanocca Avenue party, 10:11 p.m. Spoke with homeowner, noise lowered.

3/11 Caller stated there was MVA with rollover, Highland Road/Mendota Avenue, 4 p.m.

3/11 Aqua blue Trek bicycle found, appeared to be in brand new condition, Harbor Terrace Drive/Oakland Beach Avenue.

3/11 Resident reported three leaf blowers on corner of Midland Avenue/Grace Church Street. Advised landscaper of Rye City Code.

3/10 911 caller stated he observed bicyclist get tangled up in electrical wires but was…currently…okay.
