No Longer in the Driver’s Seat

On September 15, at approximately 10 a.m., a City of Rye Police officer stopped a 2010 Honda CRV on Peck Avenue, after the patrol car’s license plate reader indicated the plates had been reported stolen to the NYPD four days earlier.

The driver, 26-year-old Ligia Durasno-Escandon, of Port Chester, was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property. She was also issued a summons for driving an unregistered motor vehicle, while unlicensed, with no insurance and improper plates.

Durasno-Escandon is due back in Rye City Court on October 3.
