5/18: Report of afternoon fire on northbound railway track near Purchase Street bridge. Track shutdown requested.

5/18: Stonycrest Road caller stated youths lighting fires near Playland Lake. Officer reported youths fled scene before arrival.

5/19: Wallet belonging to Cloverdale Lane resident turned into officer while on routine patrol.

5/19: Caller reported large group of kids walking in Forest Avenue/Rockridge Road area. Two looked like they were fighting, lots of horseplay.

5/20: Yikes, bikes! Caller reported large group of bicyclists — 40 to 50 — disobeying traffic rules. Officer spoke with group regarding traffic regulations.

5/20: Captain’s Lane resident complained of dog left unattended outside, continuously barking. City Code violation summons issued.

5/21: Southpaw summons. In Parking Lot #2, Theo Fremd/Elm Place driver spotted with cell phone in left hand to left ear. Summons issued.

5/22: Loder Street/Grace Church Street resident reported middle-aged white male dressed in black in resident’s driveway and walking around neighborhood. Man told officer he was out for a walk. ID checked.

5/23: Another complaint of dog barking on Captain’s Lane. Summons issued. Unable to contact owner.

5/23: Blue VW Jetta with expired temporary tag stopped at Central Avenue/BPR. Vehicle towed.

5/24: Caller reported coyote at intersection of Forest and Apawamis avenues, walking into corner house property.

5/24: Valleyview Avenue caller reported two of her cars “ransacked” overnight. No damage reported, nothing missing.

5/25: Good morning! Good Morning! Fairlawn Street/Orchard Drive resident complained construction job started at 7 a.m. in violation of 7:30 a.m. rule.

5/25: Midland Avenue resident reported vehicle parked in front of her house for three days without moving. Officer found car parked legally on street, registered to neighbor.

5/25: Rye Smoke Shop owner reported two longtime customers had paid with what turned out to be counterfeit $100 bills. The first man tried paying with three different bills, all of which were counterfeit. He took them back to the local bank where he had received them, and they were confiscated. An hour later, a second customer, who had received his bills from an “up-county” bank, tried to pay with a counterfeit bill. Smoke Shop contacted several other local merchants to warn them. No further reports of counterfeit bills being passed.

5/25: Caller reported leaf blowers being operated in Midland Avenue/Goldwin Street area in violation of City Code.

5/25: Caller reported two afternoon leaf blower violations at Milton Road/Hill Street and Grace Church Street.

5/25: Officer summonsed vehicle at BPR/Hillside Road for improper plates, no registration, no insurance, no inspection.

5/26: Resident complained of youths hanging out, making noise after midnight at Mobil Station, at corner of Theodore Fremd and Locust avenues. Gone on arrival, no

group or persons in area.

5/26: Caller stated contractors on Fairlawn Street/Orchard Avenue slamming doors and yelling. No construction observed. Warning issued.

5/26: At leashed he had some fun. Lost dog “Scout” found at Midland School field. Returned home, placed on green leash in garage.

5/26: License, registration, inspection? Caller reported large turtle in roadway near North Street/Theodore Fremd. Turtle not found.

5/26: Officer observed Nissan Altima traveling in BPR right lane near Smith Street. Vehicle disobeyed road markings requiring right turn, continued straight. Driver stated he had no license and vehicle belonged to his brother. Vehicle towed, summons issued, man released on own recognizance.

5/26: Marriott Hotel staff reported a room full of drugs. Officers arriving at the scene found a table full of marijuana in a guestroom, separated into 65 10-ounce bags. They also found a gym bag containing another 7 ounces of loose marijuana. Hotel manager stated he went to investigate after a maid reported seeing drugs and a man trying to enter room. Manager entered the room with the man and asked if marijuana was his. Male, black with short black hair and in his 20s, responded he didn’t know what it was. The room was registered to a Port Chester man. Scene photographed, evidence bagged, transported, locked.

5/27: Caller reported suspicious white truck with yellow flashing lights and a guy with ladder across Adelaide Street at her neighbor’s house.

5/27: Caller at 1:28 a.m. reported New Street party causing a disturbance. Resident told officers party over.

5/28: Caller reported coyote crossed road at Playland Access Drive/Theall Road, headed into WESTMED property.

5/28: Report large group acting disorderly in Gagliardo Park. Large group dispersed.

5/28: Caller reports male wearing shorts and white T-shirt in possession of rifle in front of Forest Avenue residence, possible BB gun. Check of area found no evidence

of weapon.

5/28: Ask large disorderly group? Complainant reported her iPhone with black/white case lost in Gagliardo Park between 8:30-11 p.m. Called phone, but no answer.

5/29: Caller reported loud noise in Purchase Street/Highland Road area. Went off and came back on, might be gunshot. Area checked, negative results.

5/29: Caller reported lightning strike followed by traffic signal power failure at Midland/Apawamis avenues.

5/29: Caller reported possible vessel in distress. Area units responded. Canvassed with negative results. Sound was likely Captain’s Island foghorn.

5/29: Bradford Avenue resident reported suspicious vehicle in area occupied by two males. Stated vehicle stopped, tuned lights off, males exited then ran back to

vehicle and took off toward BPR.

5/29: Fairlawn Street complainant reported early use of leaf blowers. Officer spoke with landscaping crew regarding City Code violation, issued warning.

5/30: Just can’t get no re-leaf! Fairlawn Street caller complained of leaf blower City Code violation. Notified to stop blowing.

5/30: Officer observed Ford dump truck with expired temp inspection sticker exiting I-95. Vehicle towed.

5/31: Caller stated construction starting at 7 a.m. at Oakwood/Elmwood avenues. Advised by RPD that they couldn’t begin construction until 7:30, workers complied.

5/31: Brevoort Lane complainant reported money stolen from unlocked vehicle overnight.

5/31: Wordsworth major? Caller reported coyote walking in woods near Manursing Way/Renssalear Road “amongst fresh growth of spring flowers”, possibly stalking

prey.

5/31: Probably looking for that “fresh growth of spring flowers.” Party reported a snake about 4 feet long on sidewalk near BPR/Osborn Road. Snake bagged for wildlife services.
