Six members of the Wildcats indoor track team are heading to States on March 7 in Ithaca. Christine Campisi and Charlotte Boehning will compete in the 4x200m relay. They had a qualifying time of 148.48 — beating out Holy Child’s team by .11 seconds — at the February 12 NYSAIS qualifying competition at the Armory in the Bronx. Sabrine Piccinini is the alternate.

Jimmy Sandling qualified for the 300m with a time of 37.17, as well as the 55-yard dash with a time of 6.74. Jinjer Pearce qualified for the 300m with a time of 41.68. This will be her third appearance at States. Last year, she competed in both indoor and outdoor track events. In the hurdles, Catherine Walker qualified with a time of 8.96.

While Rye Country Day does not have an official indoor track team, explained Coach Charles Ogbonna, they do have a fine group of athletes, who train with White Plains Future Stars, but represent their school in NYSAIS.
