Dr. C. Ronald MacKenzie, along with his colleagues, family, and friends, recently celebrated the completion of a $2 million fundraising campaign to endow a chair in his name at Hospital for Special Surgery. The Chair supports efforts to address ethical issues facing the chronically ill, specifically those with rheumatologic disease.

“I’m excited and humbled in equal measure that we have gained this support,” said MacKenzie, a rheumatologist at Special Surgery and chairman of the American College of Rheumatology Ethics and Conflicts of Interest Committee. “The ever-evolving health care system and advances in medical technology and therapeutics expand the ethical dilemmas physicians face on a daily basis.”
