Two shells with the Rye crew team competed in Scholastic Nationals last month. This was the first time the RHS girls’ team competed at Nationals, and only the second time the boys’ team competed at Nationals.
Leslie Gallagher and Olivia Iles competed in the girls’ Jr. 2x. The girls’ double placed sixth.
Competing in the boys’ Jr. 4x were: Ryan Costa, Ross Mulkerrin, Max Bresolin, and Max Hampton Fischer. The Jr. quad placed 12th.
Both the boys’ and girls’ teams were awarded the scholar-athlete team award. These teams and clubs, made up of at least nine rowers in grades 10, 11, and 12, achieved a team GPA of 90% or higher for the spring season.
