The Rye Women’s B tennis team won the Westchester County Tennis League Championship on its home courts at Rye Recreation Park last month, beating New Castle 3-2. The team, which was organized by Tracey Forte in 2012, made the playoffs in their first season and lost in the championship match last year. Of the 15 members, Forte, Chris Ackert, Lisa Fairies, and Lucy Cassidy have been on the team all three years.

The County League is comprised of nine municipalities (Scarsdale has two B teams). Five doubles teams play in each match.

The Rye B team (USTA 3.5) had an overall record of 7-2 this season, with partners Forte (Co-Captain) and Kristina Dorfman going undefeated.

Rye added a C team  (USTA 3.0) last year, and an A team (USTA 4.0) this year.

Anyone interested in joining a team for the 2015 season, can call Rye Rec at 967-2535.
