Rye DEMS Select New Chair

Meg Cameron, a longtime resident and a City Council candidate in last fall’s election, was elected chair of the Rye Democratic Committee.

Meg Cameron, a longtime resident and a City Council candidate in last fall’s election, was elected chair of the Rye Democratic Committee. She replaces Rodney Brown, who served in the position for seven years, and formally announced his resignation at the Committee’s February 4 meeting.

With two City Council seats up again this fall and with only one Democrat on the current Council, the Rye Dems have work to do. Cameron said she looks forward to working with her fellow Democrats. She will serve as Chair until the positions of Chair and District Leaders come up for vote next spring.

Cameron and her husband Jim Glickenhaus have lived in Rye for over 25 years. Their children attended Rye City Schools. Cameron has supported and volunteered for many community organizations over the years, and currently serves as an officer on the Board of Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic. She was an early contributor to The Rye Record.

The Rye Democratic Committee welcomes the involvement of all Democrats in the City of Rye. Contact Meg Cameron at 393-8805.
