On November 30 and December 1, Rye High’s Parson Street Players will present “Senior Scenes IV”, a collection of performances that will include ten pieces from playwrights including Shakespeare, Samuel Beckett, and Neil Simon.

On November 30 and December 1, Rye High’s Parson Street Players will present “Senior Scenes IV”, a collection of performances that will include ten pieces from playwrights including Shakespeare, Samuel Beckett, and Neil Simon.

 

The ten-minute pieces are chosen by their senior directors and acted by underclassmen, cast by the directors. It’s a chance for the older students to show off what they’ve learned over the past four years and to share that knowledge with their actors, said Michael Limone, RHS English teacher and advisor to the Players.

 

“I’ve always felt that Senior Scenes is the most educational theater exercise we offer students. With the sharing of knowledge that occurs, the seniors also see for themselves how far they’ve come in their PSP years,” said Limone, who produced this year’s performance.

 

The scenes are in two acts. In all, 54 students participated, including crew and technical staff. There are both comedic and dramatic scenes from “Waiting for Godot”, “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead”, “Plaza Suite”, “Tea and Sympathy”, and “Whose Life Is It Anyway?”

 

The curtain comes up Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students, and free for and seniors.
