Rye Library to Open New Teen Center and Meeting Space

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place May 21 at 3 p.m. to officially open the new Teen Center and Conference Room.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place May 21 at 3 p.m. to officially open the new Teen Center and Conference Room. The brightly lit area for young adults features a variety of shelving for books, magazines, and media, comfortable chairs for studying, state-of-the art computers for research and digital projects, and a large screen for instructional and entertainment presentations. Teens from the community helped to plan it.

The renovations to the library’s second floor were funded by a generous donation from Mildred Weissman, a longtime Rye resident and friend of the library, and a New York State Construction Grant. Weissman, library trustees, and members of the Teen Focus Group will help cut the ribbon for these exciting additions to the library.
