How did you find Cola?
PetFinders posted her on their website, where she was in a 5-day high-kill shelter in South Carolina. Cola was found abandoned, full of milk, with her puppies missing. A wonderful Rescue Group (Furbabies Rescue from East Rockaway, N.Y.) brought Cola from South Carolina to New York via volunteer transports. She arrived scared (she has since adjusted 100%), spayed, and vaccinated.
What kind of dog do you think she is?
Half Poodle/Half Shih-Tzu
What was it that made you think Cola was the right fit for your family?
Her profile noted that she was a sweet dog, and one that enjoyed car rides.
What made you decide to rescue?
During Hurricane Sandy, we were without power for 12 days. We had a lot of time to discuss just about everything!
How old is your dog?
Between 2 and 3 years old.
What made you decide to get an older dog rather than a puppy?
We definitely felt an older dog would transition and acclimate more easily.
What parts of Rye does your dog like the most?
Cola loves taking walks on Forest Avenue and meeting other dogs.
Can you tell us some special things Cola does?
She has visited nursing homes several times and brought so much joy to the residents. Cola also goes to work in Manhattan, and doesn’t mind the commute!
