Cancel whatever you were planning during the day next Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and set aside plenty of time to shop Rye. Our town’s annual sidewalk sale comes but once a year. You won’t want to miss out on all the savings, activities, and fun.

Carpet Trends is the Sidewalk Sale for many. Residents near and far arrive early for a first look under the tent next to the longtime Smith Street business. If you need a carpet — anything from a Wilton, Stark, or Schumacher to an indoor/outdoor area rug that can handle heavy kids and pets traffic — be there. It’s cash and carry. “We’ve already received lots of calls from customers wanting an early peek,” said Margaret Ricketts, Vice President.

Woodrow Jewelers will be offering some of the best deals in town for the Sidewalk Sale. Rob Woodrow said that they’ll be discontinuing a few lines — Leslie Greene, Mont Blanc, Swatch — and will be selling items from those lines at half-price. (Get there early!)

Rhythm in Rye owner Renee Drummond plans to transform the consignment shop for the occasion. And she can do it! Everything in the store will be 30 to 50% off, from Louis Vuitton bags to everyday accessories.

Angela’s, the trendy women’s fashion boutique, is offering up to 70% off labels you won’t easily find anywhere else.

John Givelekian of Royal Jewels will be selling evil eye beads and sideway crosses, as well as other low-priced jewelry, at a big table outside the 56 Purchase Street shop.

Parkers will have great deals you won’t want to miss. Bathing suits and luggage are up to 50% off, and summer clothing is up to 70% off.

All Paws owner Claudia Baker is offering big savings on dog toys, jackets, leashes, and collars, as well as on Life is Good T-shirts. “Bring your pup!” Another good reason to shop at All Paws on Saturday during the sale is that a representative from Pets Alive will be there with adoptable pups and information.

Dina Grossman, who helps manage Great Stuff, said some products are brought in especially for the sidewalk sale — including lines by some of their best designers — including Majestic and Helene Berman. Great Stuff is always busy during the sale, said Grossman, since, “We have the best front footage of all of Rye.”

For antiques of all ages and price points, Twig Antiques, is the place to be, especially during the Sidewalk Sale. Many of the items in their inventory will be greatly reduced. Don’t miss the cash-and-carry treasures table, where most items are $10 and less.

Among Twig Antique President Nicole Steinthal’s favorite things currently in the shop are unique vintage barware, fine dining room tables and front hall benches, fabulous silver and silver plate hostess gifts, and fantastic china sets.

Isabelle’s Fine Jewelry will offer discounts of at least 25% on all Chamilia merchandise. Chamilia items being discontinued will be sold for as much as 40% off, according to store manager Jamie Horikawa.

Choose from among the latest women’s shoes, handbags, accessories, clothes, and children’s shoes outside of Shoes ‘N’ More.

Don’t miss a chance to meet Elmo at Learning Express. The beloved character will be outside to meet all of his fans. Uglydolls will be on sale, along with kites, phantom ships, and a variety of toys.

White never goes out of fashion and a lot of beautiful white home accessories will be offered at big discounts at Hampton Whites. Owner Lynn McGuinn has lots of surprises in store, from horseheads to fine and fresh linens to decorative trays. She has a real eye.

Valerie Stone, co-owner of Candy Rox, said they’ll be lining the sidewalk with racks of T-shirts on sale.” She’s also hoping to clear out the store’s candy inventory and will mark all the goodies down and offering “dollar bags”.

Ellen Mayo of Lola said, “We can’t wait to see all of our friends and customers at the Sidewalk Sale. We’ll be here with smiles.” (And they were!) “There’ll be fantastic finds,” Mayo promised.

Travel up two floors at 35 Purchase Street to Hanni Fine Jewelry for the opportunity to get gifts for special occasions and the holidays at a “generous” discount.

Gallery 52 owner Beverly Sansone said she always looks forward to the Sidewalk Sale. Part of the excitement for her is the opportunity to bring attention to the work of local artists she represents, including Heather Patterson, Adrienne Mierzwa, photographer Heidi Silverstein, and portrait artist Ed Salazar.

“In addition to original art and prints, we carry unique and unusual gift items, but most of our business is museum-quality custom framing,’’ Sansone said. “For the sale, we will be offering photo frames, curios, prints, one-of-a-kind items, and holiday decorations for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas — all at steep discounts.”

Beverly’s sister, Joan Sansone, who owns the eponymous contemporary and estate jewelry store across the street, closes her store during the sale in order to help out at Gallery 52.

The Open House, the home furnishing and interior design business on Purdy Avenue, owned by the dynamic duo of Michele Green and Barbara Sperling, will have a variety of stylish things shoppers. It will run the spectrum of lighting, pillows, trays, throws, picture frames, along with miscellaneous accessories and furniture.

Treat your feet to some new kicks at Rye Running Company and save up to 50% off of previous season’s models from Nike, New Balance, Asics, Brooks, and other major brands. Athletic apparel will also be available, so step into the shop and check out the inside sale racks.

Blush Beauty Bar is offering 10% off on everything in the shop, owner Ana Sobalvarro told us. She’s marking down jewelry 50% or more. “We’re trying to get rid of inventory.” Among the discounted items that will be outside for the sale are soaps, jewelry, and flip-flops.

Denis Mathews anticipates a rush of customers at Rush, so he’s offering discounts of as much as 50% off one-of-a-kind jewelry. “Unlike every other jewelry store, we wholesale,” he said. “We’re in a position to give people extremely good value.”

Eight unique sterling silver necklaces with very large stones will be priced at discounts at up to 20%. Some of the best deals can be found on fashion bracelets including bangles and leather-wrap bracelets.

Gold vermeil necklaces, earrings, and bracelets — normally priced from $200-$400 — will sell for half price. Freshwater pearls and baroque pearls that now sell for $1,280 to $1,500 will go for as little as $850 during the sale.

If you’re in the market for vintage posters, head to Nest Inspired Home. The classic and contemporary home furnishings store has several large ones to choose from, as well as small but special finishing touches for the home.

You can feel the Sidewalk Sale excitement building downtown.
