… Rye High School sophomore Fucine Govaert

 

 

… Rye High School sophomore Fucine Govaert, who was one of two girls from Rye and 337 nationwide selected for the 2015 Futures Elite Academy. Because of her skills, talent, and athletic prowess, she is now in the USA Field Hockey’s Olympic Development pipeline.  

Govaert, who started playing field hockey when she was 6, moved to Rye from Amsterdam the summer of 2013. This is her second year as a starter for the Garnets. “Playing field hockey has made the transition from The Netherlands to Rye very easy, because I’ve made so many friends and instantly became part of a field hockey community,” she said.
