The strong team spirit of the entire Rye YMCA gymnastics team contributed to several outstanding performances at the Northeast Regional Gymnastics Championships in Glens Falls, May 4-6. Over 20 Rye Y gymnasts competed.
Olivia Ham was the 1st place Level 5 all-around champion (1st on beam with 9.075, 2nd on floor with 9.1, 4th on vault with 8.75, 6th on bars with 8.05).
Marlin Endo was the 2nd place Level 4 all-around champion (1st on floor with 9.25, 3rd on bars with 9.3, and 5th on beam with 8.85).
“The meet was a confidence booster for the team,” said Kathy O’Brien, Rye Y Gymnastics Director.
The team is preparing for its end-of-the-year show June 1 at the Rye YMCA and the YMCA National Gymnastics Competition in Milwaukee at the end of June.
