The Rye Youth Council may be celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, but this treasured organization is as youthful as ever. At its MVP Gala, January 26, the community came out to honor and toast three of Rye’s “most valuable” people/institutions: Joe DeRuvo, Rev. Dan Love, and Kids’ S.P.A.C.E.
For the occasion, the Westchester Country Club ballroom was filled with must-have auction items, good character, and ebullient conversation. Guests came for cocktails and stayed to celebrate volunteerism at its best. Hats off to the evening’s co-chairs Lisa Hogan and Kassandra Souply.
In the words of Joe DeRuvo, “Wow! The Rye Youth Council certainly knows how to make someone feel very good! It’s such a special honor being recognized by the RYC, an organization that needs to be honored and given its own recognition.”
