As promised at the January 8 Board of Education meeting, the Rye City School District has put security guards at the doors of all of the city’s schools. There are now three guards at the middle and high school and one guard each at the three elementary schools.
The newest guard at the high school is Andre Coleman. He joins Rolf Koehler and Jeff Faulkner, who are both former New York Police Department officers. Coleman most recently worked for NJB Security based in Mount Vernon.
Parent reaction at Osborn School, the campus with the largest student population, has been very positive.
