Stay Fit at the Rye Y This Summer

The Rye YMCA is offering a teen triathalon prep class and teen fitness camp, as well as a men’s tri team.

 

Ages 10-17 can join a Triathlon Prep Class July 10 through August 16. This six-week training class will jump start training for the upcoming fall sprint triathlons in the area. Coaches will assist participants with swimming, biking, and running in order to enhance their endurance. The program will guide participants through a training schedule that will promote health and confidence.

 

Class takes place Tuesdays from 4:05-5 p.m. for swim and Thursdays from 4:15-5:15 p.m. for run/spin. All participants must have experience with all exercises. Cost is $100 for members, $125 non-members. Register online at ryeymca.org.

 

Teens (ages 12-17) can also stay active at Fitness Camp. Participants will work indoors and out with certified personal trainers and sports nutrition specialists to achieve individual goals. Activities include swimming, sports, games, strength training, spinning, pilates, agility training, and more.

 

Sessions run June 25-July 6, July 9-20, and July23-August 8 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 pm.

 

Men can begin to train for a local triathlon and meet others in an informal setting. Men’s Tri Team meets monthly for group workouts and training sessions including group swims, rides, and runs. This series is free and for members only. To sign-up email tanya@ryeymca.org.
