Stella Novoa

Stella Novoa, a longtime resident of Rye, died peacefully at home on March 20, 2018.

Born in Bogota, Colombia, Lalita, as she was affectionately known, was the daughter of Alfonso and Mary Novoa. Growing up, she was a freestyle swim champion and remained a strong swimmer and avid walker her whole life.

“She will be remembered for her magnetic personality and unwavering generosity,” said her family. “Her charisma and love for life will be greatly missed.”

Ms. Novoa is survived by her sisters, Marina Siabatto, Gloria Brenner, Malena Kassner, and Anita Sullivan. She was preceded in death by her brother Alfonso Novoa Jr.

A mass in celebration of her life will be held at St. Mary’s Church Greenwich on April 14 at 10 a.m.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Rye YMCA or The Leukemia Foundation.
