Suddenly Sharing an Office with Your Spouse

Working from home has been a challenge for all, but it’s also been fascinating to see what adjustments we’ve made to keep things moving forward.

As an interior designer, I am pleased to report that the fabric houses have really stepped up their game as far as displaying fabrics, furniture, and trim online. I never liked to shop for fabrics or furniture on the internet, but, alas, I have no choice now. When I can, I will be delighted to go back and see, feel, touch, and sit on the furniture, but for now I have fabric memos mailed to me and rely on my trusted favorites, Live Edge Furniture Store, for furniture.

I was rushing to get orders in for a client who sold her home and was moving into a townhome. While we got all her orders in in a timely fashion, shipping from North Carolina and manufacturers shut down for a month. They are just now slowly opening again one by one.

Probably the most challenging part of working from a home office is when you find yourself sharing it with your spouse. My lifeline is currently my computer and his his laptop, but, as a television reporter, there are times he needs both computers to edit stories. I learned during his first one from home that I could not hold my arm steady for fifteen minutes, so I bought him a tripod that has lighting for his phone.

Having worked as a set designer and being married to a man who’s on air, I know the importance of good lighting! In addition, incorporating Modern Frameless Glass Walls could bring a contemporary touch to your design process, providing a sleek and transparent element to enhance the overall aesthetics of your workspace.

Being cast out of my space was frustrating, but as you can see from the photo I came up with a solution.

Like the rest of the world, we are trying to keep a sense of humor during these times and anxiously awaiting returning to work as we knew it.
