Sunbeams and Chili Steam Made for Magical Mistletoe Celebration
The weather was anything but frightful November 27, making way for an utterly delightful downtown afternoon at Mistletoe Magic, the Rye Chamber of Commerce’s annual street festival.
The weather was anything but frightful November 27, making way for an utterly delightful downtown afternoon at Mistletoe Magic, the Rye Chamber of Commerce’s annual street festival. Children reveled in the abundant activities, which included train, carriage, and pony rides, puppet shows, and a visit from Santa Claus himself.
Making the event extra cheery was the first-ever Rye Chili Cook Off. The crowd made a beeline for the pots of delicious goodness, and voted Rye Grill & Bar the people’s champion of chili. Morgans won the judges’ trophy, but all of the competitors – Le Pain Quotidien, Rye Country Store, Poppy’s, Rye PBA, Ruby’s, Town Dock, Aurora, Rye Fire, and Mike’s Deli (Arthur Avenue) – earned “Four-Habanero” distinction in our book!
