The revised city budget, which surpasses the state tax cap for the second year in a row, includes the hiring of a new police officer and firefighter.
The $54.5 million proposal is an increase of more than $5 million over the 2025 budget.
Rye residents would now pay, on average, an additional $294 in property taxes per household with recent modifications to the city budget.
The increase would result in an additional $312 per household in property taxes based on the average estimated home value of $1.98 million.
The City Council will vote on the 2024 budget at its final meeting of the year, Dec. 20.
