Rye secured the win over Brewster by forcing multiple turnovers and opening up a 20-0 halftime lead. 
Thousands from Rye and Harrison packed Nugent Stadium and the visiting bleachers, while a standing-room only crowd ringed the field.  
The Dino Garr-led Rye Garnets are scheduled to open their football season at home against Monsignor Farrell High School on Sept. 6. 
“Garnet Pride, A Story of Legacy and Football,” is an hour-and-a-half-long documentary that begins the team’s 2023 odyssey with a practice at Nugent Stadium in the sweltering heat of late summer.
