The Rye City and Rye Neck school districts announced that all schools and buildings will be closed on Monday due to the snowstorm.
City residents can find a cooling center at the Rye Free Reading Room from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday.
The county emergency services is urging residents to remain indoors and avoid travel as the weather moves through the area.
Superintendent Eric Byrne announced the district-wide closure Thursday morning due to snow and sleet expected into the afternoon.
