THANKS For All the Events, Rye

After spending time catching up with family and feasting, Rye residents have a lot to look forward to over Thanksgiving weekend.

After spending time catching up with family and feasting, Rye residents have a lot to look forward to over Thanksgiving weekend.

Start Saturday morning off at Rye Recreation’s annual Turkey Run and Paws-a-Thon. You and your family can walk or run off that big meal, and bring the dog!

Then head downtown for Shop Small Saturday. Browse the one-of-a-kind shops — fashion, jewelry, home décor, antique, toy, beauty, chocolate, and pet. Pick up gift certificates around town. Get those guests out of the house and dine out in one of Rye’s many restaurants.

“When you think about what makes Rye the special community we share, it’s the small businesses and retail stores that make our small city so unique.”

— Margaret Ricketts, President of the Rye Chamber.

On Sunday head back downtown for Mistletoe Magic, which is sponsored by the Chamber and small business community. Purchase Street will be closed to traffic and full of holiday delights — a puppet show, horse-drawn carriage, carolers, and more for believers young and old.
