A rainy night didn’t discourage good friends from heading to the Friends of Rye Town Park fundraiser last Saturday. Under the Pavilion, a big crowd of local luminaries and supporters enjoyed good conversation over drinks and dinner. Acoustic guitarist Jimmy Tate provided an eclectic blend of music. Among the auction items were premier seats for the Jay Z-Justin Timberlake concert at Yankee Stadium, a picnic in the park courtesy of Corner Stone Caterers, and park-themed paintings by local artists Heather Patterson and Adrienne Mierzwa.
FRTP President Linda Wells welcomed guests and highlighted the pond projects completed by the group over the past year, the current building of an information center near the flagpole garden, and the formal long-range plan for the care and maintenance of park trees.
