The Rye High School House Tour doesn’t happen every spring, but when we discover this is the year, excitement spreads through the community. If you haven’t already bought tickets, the date of the 33rd Tour is Friday, May 20 from 9-3.

Tour-goers will enjoy breathtaking views, and a wide range of interior designs and architectural styles, from a transformed Victorian to a traditional colonial with a modern twist to an Italianate manor built over 100 years ago.

Two of the five homes on the tour are owned by designers who have built successful residential businesses. One homeowner collaborated with a local designer to create a dazzling new layout to suit her family’s lifestyle. Another homeowner took her home down to the studs and started over to achieve a modern and relaxed home. Each of the homes has a unique style and gives viewers a sense of its owner. Plan on spending enough time in each one to enjoy all the personal touches.

And plan on carving out enough time for the luncheon and boutique at Manursing Island Club. In addition to great spring shopping, you’ll have a chance to win a $1,000 gift certificate to Gracious Home and a super cool drone that any dad would love to receive for Father’s Day.

Speaking of dads, the tour organizers have something special planned, the first “Dads for the Tour” night on May 19 from 7-10 at a brand-new home at 300 Milton Road.

Tickets for are available on www.ryehousetour.com. See you all there.
