Interior designer Michele Green, together with business partner Barbara Sperling, owns The Open House, one of Rye’s newest home decor stores. Michele’s design philosophy includes balancing an unexpected mix of classic and modern elements to create spaces that are both beautiful and relevant. The result is as sophisticated as it is comfortable.
Not surprisingly, those elements carry over to her personal style, which is chic but down-to-earth. When it comes to her sartorial choices, Michele is naturally drawn to neutral colors. The key when wearing a monochromatic look is to add texture or subtle variations in shade to keep things interesting. The gray fur vest is just enough to add an unexpected touch to an otherwise classic black look.
