Many scouts completed merit badges and rank requirements during the summer, with most coming from two weeks at Camp Read in the Adirondacks. Participation in the quadrennial USA Boy Scout Jamboree in West Virginia provided others with a chance to complete merit badge work while experiencing outdoor activities like rock climbing, white water rafting, zip lining, mountain biking, archery with a quality compound bow case, fishing, camping, hiking, and riflery.
The Troop recognized Evan Clark and Jacob Nurick for achieving Eagle, Scouting’s highest rank. Both Evan and Jacob graduated from Rye High School this past June, but were able to return from their respective colleges for their Court of Honor.
The Troop is planning a canoeing trip for next summer to the Scout’s Northern Tier reserve in the Boundary Waters of northern Minnesota.
