Those Amazing Young Artists

For a dazzling display of emerging artists and musicians, you needn’t travel any further than the Rye Arts Center.

For a dazzling display of emerging artists and musicians, you needn’t travel any further than the Rye Arts Center. This spring, the Student Art Exhibit featured works by students from 18 area high schools. The teens also curated the show, the result of a yearlong arts education initiative, with guidance from Gail Harrison Roman. The year-end Music School Recitals ended on a high note, with 200 students of all ages performing classical, jazz, and rock music over several days.

Exhibiting students from Rye schools included:

School of the Holy Child: Eleanor Grinnell, Christine Millard, Augusta Pendergast

Rye Country Day School: Elena Conn, Wenchen Huang, Stefanie Kligman

Rye High School: Gabrielle Amaturo, Katy Haigney

Rye Neck High School: Amanda Albert, Alan Espinoza, Jordan Julien, Samantha Sheldon.

A round of applause to the members of the Student Studio Exhibition and Performance Committee: Gabrielle Amaturo, Elena Conn, Amelia Dobronyi, Eleanor Grinnell, Katy Haigney, Lucas Pettinato, Lizzy Rubin, Liz Sweeny, and Samantha Sueiro.
