Howard Husock and Robin Henschel of Rye are pleased to announce the wedding of their son, Leon Husock, to Sarah Alpert, the daughter of Bruce and Terri Alpert of Madison, Conn, on October 27, 2019 at The Barns at Wesleyan Hills in Middletown, Conn. The bride’s sister, Rachel, was the maid of honor. The groom’s older brother, Aaron, served as best man.

 

The couple met at Bard College, where the bride majored in Writing and the groom majored in Literature.

 

The bride is an editor at Algonquin Young Readers, an imprint of Workman Publishing. The bride’s father is the rabbi of Congregation Beth Israel in Wallingford, Conn.; her mother is the founder of Uno Alla Volta, a mail order catalogue.

 

The groom, a 2009 graduate of Rye High School is an artisan blacksmith who teaches at She-Weld in the Red Hook section of Brooklyn. His father is a writer and Senior Fellow at the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research; his mother is a ceramic sculptor and member of the Clay Art Center in Port Chester.

 

Following a honeymoon in Vermont, the couple returned to their home in Brooklyn.
