Rye’s Dr. Joy Reidenberg stars in the PBS series “Sex in the Wild,” which premiered this week and runs Wednesday nights from 10-11 through August 6. The program offers a rare look at animal reproduction and conservation.

Anatomist Reidenberg, along with veterinary scientist Mark Evans, travel from the Okavango Delta in Botswana to the Australian Outback to a Borneo rainforest and the waters of New Zealand to gain a greater understanding of the natural mating, birth, and rearing behaviors of elephants, kangaroos, dolphins, and orangutans.
