Wildcats Scoreless in Opener at Tuckahoe

The Rye Country Day football team dropped a tough opening game September 15 at Tuckahoe, losing 18-0.

The Rye Country Day football team dropped a tough opening game September 15 at Tuckahoe, losing 18-0.

Three members of the RCDS’ squad shined despite the loss.

 

Tyler Miller tackled 12 Tigers, forcing Tuckahoe’s offense to shift to the opposite side of the field. Miller also racked up 63 yards in a dozen carries on offense.

 

Tyler Fernandez caught four passes for 59 yards, all of them resulting in first downs. He also was credited with making some key blocks.

 

And Raishaun McGhee made five tackles and five assists from the free safety spot. On offense, he passed for 85 yards and rushed for 57 yards.

 

This Saturday, the Wildcats play Bronxville away at 1:30 p.m. The Broncos, 1-1, trounced Hastings 43-0 in their last outing.
