Former Rye Golf Club manager Scott Yandrasevich and his attorney Kerry Lawrence were back in court in White Plains September 3. Lawrence and Brian Conway, who is prosecuting the case for the County, met in court informally prior to both men conferencing in chambers with Judge Robert A. Neary.

Yandrasevich sat alone in the back of the courtroom while the conference proceeded. He pled not guilty May 9 to an 11- count indictment including Class C Felony charges. He is accused of stealing $342,120 from Rye Golf Club between September 2006 and August 2012. If found guilty he faces a possible sentence of 15 years in state prison. He is currently free on $10,000 bail.

The conference in chambers lasted less than ten minutes, after which Lawrence, was texcused by Neary since he had another court appointment, and left the courtroom along with the defendant.

A short time later, Neary granted a continuance of the Determination of Readiness for trial until September 17th. Addressing the court, Conway mentioned that the parties might be working towards a “disposition” in the case.

Asked after leaving court if the talk of a possible disposition meant that Yandrasevich might be close to a plea bargain, Conway denied that, saying “our position has not changed, but the defense could always make a move before or after September 17.”

Reached later, Lawrence said that the court date was moved primarily “for scheduling reasons and because additional evidence was presented to us that I have not had a chance to look at thoroughly.”
