Ninety years after the controversial Scopes “Monkey” trial and 60 years after “Inherit the Wind,” a fictionalized dramatization of the trial by Jerome Lawrence and Robert Edwin Lee, opened on Broadway, the Rye High School Drama Department presented its version of the celebrated play.
Through thoughtful direction by Leanne Janos and fine acting and period set design, the classic play lost none of its thrill or significance at the RHS Performing Arts Center last weekend.
